Reflection: Standard I requires teachers to facilitate a sense of creativity and enhance student learning via innovative technology and traditional methods. It mandates that teachers provide students with instruction that engages them in authentic intellectual work utilizing multiple methods and tools, such as virtual experiences, hands-on experiences, and research. This intellectual work encompasses a student’s ability to obtain and understand fundamental knowledge, application of that knowledge in unfamiliar scenarios, and transfer beyond the classroom. Teachers can accomplish this by increased collaboration with other educators and administrators, and diving into learning with their students. Furthermore, student collaboration is also imperative for preparing students for life after high school. The projects that I have created included collaboration with group members. This collaboration has provided the opportunity to receive insight and help from group members to ensure successful completion of those projects. Example of projects that reflect standard one are my Google Slide Presentation and complementary Google Document, a Discussion Forum and the creation of my Course Website. Each member of my group made changes and comments regarding these projects to develop them and enhance the overall utility and design of the projects.

Future learning goals: As as educator, I want to give my students the best learning experiences possible that will help build their desire to learn and allow them to use their creative talents within the context of learning content. I am now better equipped to provide new, innovative ways to provide that to my students. My goals for the future are to obtain more experience with these tools to become better with utilizing them in my classroom. I also intend to incorporate many of these tools into my own instruction this upcoming school year. I, also, have chosen to increase my collaboration with my students and other faculty at my high school within the learning context so that I may be a better model for demonstrative purposes so that they can see a tangible expression of collaboration and higher learning.
